About
Joe is a freelance Musical Director, Keyboardist, Arranger and Composer specialising in musical theatre. Originally from Bristol, he studied Maths and Music at the University of Birmingham and is now based in London. He was the 2023-24 Andrew Lloyd Webber Fellowship Associate Musical Director at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where he continues to teach, and has received mentorship from Wendy Gadian and Ben Ferguson. Joe is an excellent pianist with an emphasis on sight-reading and accompanying — he also plays the accordion.
Joe has accompanied auditions for major London castings and has a wealth of experience accompanying rehearsals and performances. He is highly skilled in music technology (Mainstage, Logic Pro, QLab) and can create complex and reliable keyboard programming. Joe has a keen eye for detail and excellent skills in music notation (Sibelius) and has provided transcription and music preparation for Marc Teitler (several projects). Joe is currently composing for an upcoming show at CSSD.
Joe is available for rep coaching and audition preparation sessions, and can create high quality piano backing tracks. He also tutors ABRSM music theory. Please get in touch for further information.

Other Projects
Beyond musical theatre, Joe enjoys a range of styles of music. He recently cofounded the function band A-Sides, for which he plays keyboard and creates arrangements. He also plays keyboard and accordion with Holly Fitz, an up-and-coming singer-songwriter.
